I am in my tent, set up on a platform on the outside of a switchback on a forest road. I made it to my 1 billion star hotel early today.
Before the mosquitos were out, I had an hour to lounge in my hammock. When the bugs came, I put that away and replaced it with a tent. In my tent, I played my guitar and sang as loud as I could until I ran out of songs.
When I ran out of songs, I decided that I could get ready for bed. It was after 7:30 after all. I grabbed my things I would need from the car: a blanket, a sleeping pad, a jacket, and some water.
The coyotes realized I was done singing, so they started to sing for me. Their song was full of excitement and energy. I am thankful for their song.
The birds have been singing to me as well, and I sometimes can sing along. When the concert is done, I will finally go to sleep.
Montana.
